  • Wirral Council has gone live with ‘Concerto Projects’ management software for the Strategic Change Programme, thus aiding effective management and control of projects across the borough. Wirral Council, a metropolitan borough of Merseyside which serves a population of in excess of 300,000 people, uses the project management system to focus resources and manage projects that will deliver improvements and financial benefits to the council. “Concerto Projects has easily adopted the council’s ‘gateway system’ where each major stage of a project is approved, logged and provides an auditable record of each project’s progress with appropriate controls,” explains Bob Neeld, Chief Accountant (System and Central Services), Wirral Council. “Projects at the concept phase have benefits assigned to them and are prioritised, then when a project starts the delivery stage, Concerto Projects tracks the identified benefits and monitors progress. “Concerto Projects’ is able to provide a corporate view for managing the programme’s finances, risks and issues with comparisons of planned versus actual, providing a streamlined and effective programme control and reporting process. “At the same time it benefits project managers as they can use it to build their project plans, assign resources and record progress, manage risks, change control and issues.”

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
